The elderly say that Be’akid Baa’a’oogeed was first established when a local trading post manager first dug a well by a pond; he needed good water to operate the store. Later, people started community meetings in front of the trading post. A more permanent place for meetings was planned. The White Cone Chapter was certified in 1957 and a chapter house was built shortly thereafter.
The White Cone Chapter conducts meetings monthly to keep residents informed; residents have a forum to express their opinions to their Navajo Nation Council Delegate or to decide on matters concerning their chapter.
